Blitz To Barrel

I went out and watched the coolest annual mountain bike race in town last night, the Blitz to Barrel. It's a mostly downhill event, starting up at Wanoga Ski Park and ending at 10 Barrel Brew Pub in Bend, via singletrack, a big jump at the golf course and then some roads the rest of the way. Adam Craig seemingly owns this event, but it's always close the whole way down. I found a nice patch of forest to watch the action.

Caught up on some unfinished light building as of late. Now the search for parts and pieces begins again.

Tuxes and Tails Photos

I volunteered a little time with my camera at the Humane Society of Central Oregon this past weekend.They have a special event coming up called Tuxes and Tails, which is an annual, formal fundraiser for the shelter and they were in need of some creative photographs of dogs and cats for the dinner tables and posters for the walls. Since the shelter was a little empty, I had to wrangle up a few photos of shelter animals I had photographed in the past. This is a good thing though, as an empty shelter is a happier shelter.  I wish the event to be a success, as the HSCO and the animals that temporarily reside there, is a very worthy cause to contribute to.

Desk Light

I've had this roofing jack (???) lying around the garage for the past few months with a vague idea of what I wanted to do with it, but could never find the right pieces that worked. On my latest trip to the metal scrap yard I stumbled upon this torched out metal piece that fit with the jack perfectly. Finally I was able to start the assembly and things just fell into place. Here is the outcome, which is available as we speak at Feather's Edge Finery here in town.
